New York and New Jersey Conferences

At the NYSAPLS conference, held at the Saratoga Springs City Center, over 650 attendees enjoyed three productive days. The continuing education component of the conference offered 42 diversified sessions with several well known speakers from across the country, while the exhibit hall featured over 30 vendors with an exciting array of equipment, services, and supplies.

The gala banquet concluded the proceedings with new officers being seated and a talk by NSPS incoming president Robert Dahn on the state and priorities of the national society. Steve Boddecker, the incoming president of NYSAPLS, gave an inspiring speech on his plans for the next two years to end the event.

Where snowstorms are a yearly concern, the NJSPLS conference was held in 65 degree weather at Bally’s Park Place on the boardwalk in Atlantic City. The 800 attendees were able to choose from the 29 continuing education courses offered by many nationally known speakers. Surveying equipment, education, and services were artfully displayed by 35 exhibitors.

The annual awards banquet saw the installation of incoming president Charles Bell and his officers. Richard Hudson, PLS was honored with the William T. Murray Lifetime Achievement Award. Outgoing president James Sens, PLS received the Surveyor of the Year Award.
