| i have a 10 acre piece of land that i am trying to survey somewhat. the property is kinda remote, but i want to get the corners close as i can because i am building a fence around the whole 10 ac. there is a section corner at the nw corner of the property, and thats the only one there is on this place. i have an older transit that doesnt have a compass, but just the degrees on the dial at the base of it. the question is,when i set the transit up on the nw corner pin with the plumb bob, how can i set the transit to absolutely perfect east or south without that built in compass? could i just find my corners with a gps? |
