Two conditions impact its right clamping action by eachbolt, called clamp load. the primary is bolt diameter. The second is that theclass of the bolt, defined by the bolt’s strength, which successively is set bythe fabric of construction. Thankfully, standards organizations have assembledthe quality tensile strengths for common bolts into easy-to-use standards. SAEJ429 governs imperial sizes, while ISO 898 governs metric-size bolts/metric bolt size chart. Forimperial bolts, grades 5 and eight are most typical. SAE J429 conforming boltswill have radial markings machined on the top of the bolt that indicates boltgrade. A grade 2 bolt has no markings, a grade 5 bolt will have three markings, while a grade 8 bolt will have six lines. Metric bolts are more simplyidentified: the category is explicitly stamped on the bolt head
