Within the penis are two chambers – the corpus cavernosa. They are responsible for determining the length and size of the penis during an erection. The tunica albuginea membrane surrounds the chamber, which contains spongy tissues. The spongy tissues consist of veins, smooth muscles, and fibrous tissues that support the penis during erection, ejaculation, and contractions.
