Fat is what you should eliminate, not weight as a whole. To lose fats, you should be able to follow the principle of energy consumption and spending. If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight; while if you burn more calories than you eat, you lose weight. This is a simple principle that not everyone can follow.

Diet and exercise are two of the most popular methods of losing fat. Yes, both of these can be effective means of losing the fat component of weight when applied correctly. In diet, no person should starve himself to lose weight. Aside from the hazard it brings to the health, it can also cause a person to overeat the next time he sees food. By eating the correct food in little amounts, diet can be effective.

With exercise, a person is not required to choose strenuous activities and exercise routines as these can only burn the person out. Exercise programs should be carefully planned so that they do not cause fatigue and exhaustion to a person who is trying to lose weight.
