It is very common Memory Hack Review for people with the combined type of ADHD to also have a diagnosis of Oppositional Defiance Disorder or depression. Sensory integration problems such as auditory or visual processing issues are also very common in people with ADHD. It would appear that SCT is a comorbity of ADHD much like these other problems. There would need to be many additional ADHD subtypes to adequately categorize all the possible combinations of ADHD symptoms. If we were to make a fourth subtype for individuals with ADHD-PI and Sluggish Cognitive Tempo the symptoms would break down as follows:Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a behavioral disorder that affects nearly ten percent of all school aged children. Parents raising children diagnosed with ADHD can benefit from different discipline methods than those they were raised with. It is possible to teach children good behaviors while using discipline techniques that do not include time-outs, behavioral charts or reward charts. Before parents can begin to enforce rules and boundaries they need to be established first. If the child is old enough, include him/her in the process. Write them down and place in a conspicuous place where they can be easily referenced.Once the rules are established, it is up to the parents to enforce them. This can be taken care of by simply restating a particular rule that is being violated. It is normal for any child to attempt to break or bend the rules in the beginning. A parent needs to stay firm in their decision and let the child know there will be no swaying. When a particular rule is not being followed, stop the child immediately. Let the child know specifically what they are doing or saying that you do not approve of. Explain to them what they should be doing and have them repeat it or perform it before allowing them to continue.Children with ADHD may need several daily reminders about a particular rule. Remember, this is due more to their behavioral disorder than their desire to irritate you. Stay calm and make sure your frustration does not show on your face. It is helpful to redirect the child to another area or activity when the child persists in displaying undesirable behavior. When you heard your physician say the phrase "ADHD" your mind kind of checked out. You knew your son was a handful and suspected some type of hyperactivity diagnosis, but your hands still went cold and your mind numb when the doctor used the terms ADD and ADHD. On the way home you wondered, just what exactly is the difference between ADD and ADHD? Take a few minutes and read this article to discover the definition of ADHD as well as an introduction to natural treatment protocols.
