Whenever you travel you should be aware of a few items that distinguish a good hotel from a bad one. And while you may not be able to afford a five star hotel every time you're on the road, noting the items on this list in your room will confirm that where you are staying is a quality establishment.

1. Plastic Ice Bucket: Every hotel has a plastic ice bucket, right? How else would you keep that bottle of Dom chilled?

2. Leather Desk Blotter: These are very useful when you want to write a letter or when you have business to attend to via your laptop. They convey a sense of formality that may help you focus on the quality of your work.

3. Coffee Machine: Traveling means staying awake at certain times when you don't want to. And for that, we drink coffee. The great brown drink is best enjoyed when most convenient, which means that if you don't have coffee in your room, you better have access to some in the lobby.

4. Plastic Wastebasket: Probably one in the bathroom and one nearby the bed. That prevents garbage buildup and unnecessary trips across the room, highly looked down on by weary travelers.

5. Coasters: Nicer hotels may have leather coasters but plastic ones work just as well. Use them so you don't damage the hotel furniture.

6. Room Tray: These items are great for ordering breakfast in bed. Everything stays balanced, accidental spills won't dribble down your shirt, and you can eat with your feet up. What's not to love?

7. 3 Ring Binders: Hotels frequently have bindery with information inside, such as what to do, where to go and more important stuff about the hotel itself.

8. Art: At least one framed photograph or print is necessary if you're going to run a successful hotel.

9. TV: These days modern hotels all have a flat screen TV. With remote control.

10. Phone: Landlines are disappearing in most homes, but when it comes to hotels, people don't always have their cell and still need to make calls, or sometimes just need wake up calls. Either way, a phone is an indispensable piece of hotel equipment.

There you have it folks, these ten items are essential to any hotel beginning business. So if you're traveling around and you don't see one of these items, you should be afraid and before you take a shower, check to see if the proprietor's mother doesn't live in a house on the hill.

Scotsman is a very well-known name in the restaurant industry. They provide some of the best ice systems and the ice flakers that they manufacture are of the best quality also. But what is it that sets the Scotsman Ice Flaker apart from the rest? large ice bucket
