| I put 4 17 inch wheels on my car, they are Volvo wheels as pictured here. For the life of me, I can't seem to get wheel shimmy out even with new tires. I specifically asked they check for any bent wheels and they are straight and true. The tires are new BFG brand which I've heard can be a pretty crappy tire but they are new. Any other reason these 17's would cause a problem? My 15 inch snows run to any speed with no vibration whatsoever. I had the control arms replaced and an alignment performed but not with these wheels. I had toe issues that were fixed. Another alignment for these wheels and tires?? |

| Have you got the wheel alignment pin in the right place where it sits in to a recess in the back of the wheel, quite a few of the Volvo alloys can only be fitted with this pin in a single specific recess, if you manage to put the wheel on in the wrong place it will be way out of true as it won't be sat on the hub correctly. |

| Phase one alloys have an offset of 43MM phase two alloys have an offset of 49MM but the hub diameter is the same, if the car is an AWD check how much clearance you have got between the wheel/ tyre and the rear suspension arms as it will be very close - Mike |

| I'm sure they came off a phase 2 car, maybe an S60 or S80. The pin is correctly oriented on the wheels and they are flat to the rotor. They do seem to be mounted correctly and the hub size is the same as my old wheels. The offset however, should 6MM matter that much? I'll look under the car in the rear as I am driving and AWD (no propshaft though). I'm pretty much ready to sell these wheels and tires for enough to cover a set of new 16 inch tires to put on my original alloys. The guys putting on the new tires actually used an air powered wire thing to clean the rotors and even put a light coat of anti-seize to keep the wheels from sticking. I did the 17's mostly for looks and in truth don't really like the way they ride anyway. |

| I have 17" Thor Volvo Alloys on my phase one V70, these are also phase two alloys and I don't have any issue with the way the car handles. I have tried my wheels on a mates 98 V70 AWD and neither of us was happy with the clearance between the wheel/ tyre and the rear suspension which is why I mentioned it as the AWD rear suspension is very different to a front wheel drive model - Mike |

| These wheels may be perfect for your car also. Have the wheels removed and give them a scrape and also check the flat mating surface of the wheels for burrs.....perhaps one of them has a raised aluminium section. If this doesn't help do the new tires cone with a warranty? ? |

| I'll try that Mike, take 'em off and do a super clean. The vibration isn't really all that bad but since I run 90% highway, smooth is better. I'm just surprised the cheap old crapper steelies I bought for the snow tires run so damn smooth. My wife's S70 has some decent 16 inch and she likes my wheels, maybe I'll swap with her seeing as she just runs around town with her car. Too many wheels, not enough cars. |
