After you forget to install aol download latest version on your system then you might think that you will lose your emails but you will not if you have a backup of it. Follow these steps to create a backup:

• Open AOL desktop Gold but don’t log in
• On the login window click on the down arrow to display your username
• Now select the username you choose to see the emails for
• Close the login screen and open the read mail icon 
• Now you can click on any folder to save on your PC so that you access locally store emails of your account
• Open the email which you save and then save it on the desired location by giving it a suitable file name and don’t forget to choose the format.
