How / Where to Learn GPS (Field-to-Finish) |

I'm a PS with a college degree in which my university trained me for the "theoretical" uses and ideas behind GPS, but not actually how to use GPS. I currently am employed and we do not own our own GPS equipment, but rent them when it is needed. My supervisor is the only person who is trained to use GPS and has the attitude of "if I share everything I know, then there is no use for me around here."
I'm quickly realizing, that even in my mid 30's, I am falling behind the times when it comes to the state of the art technology and the direction that our profession seems to be heading.
What is the best way for someone in my position to learn the ins and outs of GPS (i.e. field to finish) without having to change employment or spend a ton of money? Someday I hope to be running my own business and without atleast the knowledge of the state of the art tools of the trade, I do not see that becoming a possibility.
Any advise is welcome and appreciated.
Thanks.
